Praying the Lord's Prayer- Thy Kingdom come
Jesus said to them, "When you pray, say this: may your Kingdom come; may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
Jesus instructs the disciples to pray for God’s Kingdom to come on earth as it is in Heaven.
Have you ever thought what your heaven life plan would be like? What has God thought about you? What is His design plan for you?
So often our basis of prayer is what we have thought about and come up with. Sometimes we can surprise ourselves! But what God has in store for us is much better than what we have thought up for ourselves. Often our sin and self centred approach can rob us of the big things that God wants to do with us.
It is the same when we pray for our family, our church, our country and our world. While we may have some great ideas for praying for each of the above, God has a better idea.
So Jesus taught his disciples that praying for stuff is best when we get an idea of what God wants for us etc and then praying that in.
We need to log onto thykingdom.com and check out what God is thinking and wanting and then praying that into existence!
We do not need a computer but we do need to spend the time asking what God wants before we launch out with our long lists, spitting out our agenda and thinking that we have done all right.
Praying God’s Kingdom to come is praying what God wants to see happen in your life, your family, your church family, your world.
Whatever God wants to see happen in your life and world would be far better than whatever we could think up.
Pray the Lord’s Prayer out loud. Seek God about His Kingdom will for your life, your family, your church and the issues that you are concerned about. Be still. Ask God for His will. Have a pen and paper to write down the thoughts that “pop” into your mind as the Holy Spirit brings to your mind the thoughts of God.
